I would like to propose a ban on private individuals and entities booting cars within Davidson. The practice breeds distrust of local rules, regulations, and institutions. Moreover, businesses that benefit from this exploitative practice operate in the sticky shadows of the law, making up fees on the fly, and holding private property hostage.

In the absense of legal safeguards for private citizens, such as legal, standardized fees that are equal for all and strict and posted perimeters on allowed time in parking spaces, allowing booting in our city is akin to inviting pirates into our town.

I have no objection to boots placed by police officers, only those by private entities that operate as privatized police. Any connections with the Wild West here is purely intentional on my part.
